UNICEF estimates there are 140 million orphans worldwide. To put that into perspective the combined populations of New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago is 15 million people. Our family has felt a call to adoption for quite some time but two things have always stopped us: #1 is cost and #2 is wondering how in the world can we possibly make a difference when so many need help. Josh was adopted from South Korea when he was just a few weeks old. Because his adoptive parents chose to open their hearts to him he was given an opportunity that he may not have had if he stayed in Korea. He was an illegitimate child (which was very taboo in Korea at that time). His birth mother had only a middle school education and she had to take care of her family who was struggling financially. A difference was made to one. The children of India have been placed on our hearts specifically, and we are ready to step out in faith and pursue what God has called us to do. We are asking you to help us make a difference to one. Will you join us in being a starfish thrower?

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is serious autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults. It’s unrelated to diet and lifestyle—and people with T1D must constantly monitor their blood-sugar levels, inject or infuse insulin and carefully regulate doses with eating and activity.
There are no days off from T1D—and there is no cure.
This is our lives 24/7, no vacation, no days off, no breaks. Michael injects insulin 5-8 times a day just to stay alive. We HAVE to find a cure, please help us!
Renaissance Church is a protestant church located in Little Burgundy, a neighbourhood of Montreal. Our church began a few years ago when a group of Christians started a Bible study and began to try to meet various needs in our community. From there, we started to meet once a month as a church and launched our weekly worship gatherings in January 2015. Since launching our worship gathering, we have tried to be a church that shares Jesus in everyday life and to meet practical needs of people as a way to demonstrate how God has so richly served us, as is evidently displayed through Jesus. To do this, we have created various small groups that meet throughout the week where we talk about the Bible, share everyday life with one another, and seek to serve the city in various ways. We also meet collectively as a church on Sundays at 555 Rue de Seigneurs, at 10am. We are a church that is committed to sharing the Gospel and our lives with others and have a passion for church planting and training our local church on how to use their own gifts, talents and passions to share their lives and the Gospel in everyday contexts.
